Sisterly HQ is empowering Nigerian women with the tools to tell their stories.

Sisterly HQ is a digital community that empowers Nigerian women to tell their stories their way, and connects them with opportunities and resources to succeed.

Sisterly HQ began as a digital publication that told Nigerian women's stories and connected them to opportunities and resources. This mission has since evolved to empowering Nigerian women with the platform to document their own stories their way through digital technology and connecting them with the right tools and information to get ahead in life.

Sisterly HQ is a response to the lack of representation of Nigerian women, and the huge opportunity gap Nigerian women experience. Through impactful storytelling, and increasing access to opportunities and resources, Sisterly HQ is helping Nigerian women reclaim their narratives and is shattering the glass ceiling of discrimination, and exclusion faced by Nigerian women in the pursuit of their goals.

Titilope Adedokun, Founder

“In 2019, a friend asked me to join an Edit-a-thon to write biographies of Nigerian women on Wikipedia. I said Yes, and soon, I was in a room with 10 storytellers sharing the stories of some of Nigeria's phenomenal women. It felt great to put these women's names where they belong - the limelight. But this experience also made me realize that the stories of Nigerian women are largely ignored.

In addition, I have seen and experienced the access gap that exists for Nigerian women when it comes to opportunities and resources. I remember Googling opportunities for Nigerian women and getting directed to everything but that. Guided by the scattered ideas in my Notes App, inspired by conversations with amazing women, motivated by sessions with my coach, and supported by women volunteers who said Yes, Sisterly HQ was born.”

Who we are

  • The stories of Nigerian women matter. Now, more than ever, we have a chance to change the narrative and document history through our stories.

Also, Nigerian women experience a multi-layered gap when it comes to accessing relevant opportunities and resources. If women can not access important tools to succeed, then they have little control over their future.

Digital technology is a tool of empowerment, and we will use it to advocate for and increase representation, inclusion and access for Nigerian women.

  • At Sisterly HQ, we are telling, learning, sharing and growing together. We do this through storytelling, distribution of resources, and community.

  • Sisterly HQ is founded upon the principles of access, empowerment, community, and shared ownership.

  • We are working towards a Nigeria where women are represented in every space, and have equal access to opportunities and resources.

A world where the stories Nigerian women are not hidden or overlooked but are acknowledged and celebrated. A world where women dream, and achieve it - not matter how big their goals are.

We hope to positively impact 20% of Nigerian women with digital tech access by 2030.
